APD | Roads closed in Manila for Chinese President Xi’s arrival

By APD writer Melo M. Acuna

MANILA, Nov.19 (APD) -- The Manila Police District (MPD) said road closures and traffic rerouting are imperative for the arrival and wreath-laying activities of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The Traffic Enforcement Unit said the general public should expect heavy traffic within the affected areas as they advised motorists to take alternate routes as roads will be closed as early as 6:00 A.M. Tuesday.

Some 5,000 police personnel have been deployed to assure Chinese President Xi and his party smooth travel with the heavily populated Metropolitan Manila.

He is expected to lay a wreath at the Jose Rizal Monument at The Luneta before proceeding to the Presidential Palace where official honors will be accorded him by his host President Rodrigo Duterte.

A bilateral meeting is expected in the afternoon. A state banquet will be held in President Xi Jinping’s honor at 7:15 P.M. after their official activities.
