Guiyang listed among the best quality tourism cities in China

Guiyang, a major hub for communication, industry and tourism services in southwestern China, has been named as one of the four best quality tourism cities in the country.

It joined Shanghai, Kunming and Xuzhou on the list named at the Yangtze Delta Development Forum for Culture and Tourism, held in Shanghai on Nov. 17.

The forum is a platform for the cooperation and exchange of tourism with regional characteristics. The annual ranking of best tourism cities is held by the China National Travel, a magazine known for its authoritative voice.

It is the third time that the magazine has issued rankings. Twenty-four other awards in five areas were announced.

Guiyang, capital of Guizhou Province, is also the center of politics, economy, culture, science, education and transportation in the province.Relying on ecological leisure and vacation conditions, the transformed integrated transportation and the establishment of big data platforms, Guizhou has been very successful in all-for-one tourism development.

In 2002, Guiyang was selected as the first national pilot ecological city of a circular economy. Guiyang was awarded the title of National Forest City in 2004 and honored as the summer resort of China in 2007. In 2016, it ranked among the top 10 of world's top 100 summer resorts.

The Eco Forum Global Guiyang has been successfully held for nine years and plays a significant role in promoting ecological civilization construction at home and abroad.

Guiyang strives to develop an ecological environment and has prepared the industrial foundation and development advantages for being a demonstration city of all-for-one tourism.

From January to August this year, Guiyang received over 126 million tourists, an increase of 27.6 percent compared with the same time last year, and garnered a total tourism revenue of over 160 billion yuan (23.1 billion U.S. dollars), an increase of 32.38 percent compared with the same time last year.
