APD | India: Delhi temperature at record low

By APD writer Rishika Chauhan

NEW DELHI, Dec. 4 (APD) -- The temperature of Delhi dropped below 10 degree Celsius, marking the season’s lowest temperature so far.

Experts state that this year the winter in the north of the country will be normal. However, in peninsular India winter would be warmer than that of last few years.

According to a Hindustan Times report, “The minimum temperature recorded at India Meteorological Department’s Safdarjung station was 9 degrees Celsius early on Sunday.”

“At the Aya Nagar station in south Delhi, the minimum temperature was even lower and stood at 8.3 degrees Celsius,” the report further said.

The maximum temperature was 28.1 degrees at Safdarjung and 26.8 degrees at Aya Nagar.

In the coming week, the sky is expected to be cloudy due to western disturbance, which might increase the temperature in Delhi.

However, if snowfall takes place in the surrounding provinces of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, the temperature in Delhi is expected to decrease.
