One child was killed and at least 40 others injured after a charter bus crashed near Benton, Arkansas, on Monday, AP reported.

The bus was carrying a football team that had played in a championship game in Dallas over the weekend, according to local police.

Most of the injured are children and the wounded have been taken to hospitals.

Authorities did not immediately identify which school was involved.
