China's largest ice cave groups debut in Shanxi Province

A rare scenic collection of 14 ice cave groups has been found in Yunqiu Mountain in Xiangning County, north China's Shanxi Province. Thick ice froze inside the caves with numerous sparkling icicles hanging on the ceiling, creating a breathtaking view like a silver kaleidoscope.

According to researchers, the mysterious sites represent the largest group of ice caves ever discovered in China. Many visitors and photographers have flocked to the site to admire the dream-like fairyland and take pictures.

Yunqiu Mountain is a 4-A level scenic resort that received thousands of visitors every year. Normally people would pay a visit specifically for its temple fair and the Zhonghe or Longtaitou Festival, a traditional Chinese festival which falls on the second day of the second month of the lunar year

Now, the unique frozen world offers another choice as a sightseeing destination for those who fancy a visit during the upcoming Chinese New Year holiday.
