APD | Austrian Foreign Minister Kneissl wraps up Nepal visit

KATHMANDU, Feb. 23 (APD) - Austria's Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Karin Kneissl flew to Bhutan today after completing her three-day official visit to Nepal.

She had arrived in Kathmandu on a three-day visit at the invitation of Nepal’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali.

While in Kathmandu, Nepal's capital, the Austrian minister assured of an assistance for the conservation of cultural heritages in Lalitpur district in the Kathmandu Valley. An immediate assistance of 120,000 Euros for taking necessary measures for the protection of heritages within the Lalitpur Durbar Square was announced on the occasion.

On Friday, she held a delegation-level bilateral meeting with Minister Gyawali. She also paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Oli the same day.

She also expressed her government’s willingness in supporting Nepal in the post-earthquake rebuilding efforts and her government’s desire to invest in Nepal’s energy sector and tourism.
