APD | Pakistan summons Indian diplomat

By APD writer Rishika Chauhan

According to a report published in the Reuters, Pakistan’s government summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia on Monday to discuss shelling by India in Pakistan’s side of Kashmir.

The report further said that in the shelling, a 60-year old woman and a 13-year old boy were killed, while three people were hurt.

A statement published by Pakistan’s foreign ministry said, “The ceasefire violations by India are a threat to regional peace and security and may lead to a strategic miscalculation.”

Meanwhile, the Indian foreign ministry did not comment on the incident.

Earlier, Pakistan expelled India’s ambassador and deferred bilateral trade after India revoked its article 370 which gave special status to a disputed province Jammu and Kashmir.

The Indian and Pakistani prime ministers, Narendra Modi and Imran Khan had also criticized each other last week at the UN General Assembly in New York.
