APD | French police arrest five linked to deadly knife attack

By APD writer Adtiya Nugraha

French authorities arrested on Monday five men suspected to have connection with Mickael Harpon, perpetrator of knife attack that killed four in Paris police headquarters.

Among the arrested ones was an imam of a mosque where Harpon used to attend. Police has listed the imam in the list of France’s potential security threat.

Police said the arrests were made after early morning raid in a Paris suburb.

Harpon converted to Islam 10 years ago, allegedly had adopted increasingly radical beliefs.

Harpon did the attack on October 3 and was shot dead by the police during attack.

French authorities have intensified investigation into possibilities whether Harpon’s attack was a solo act or an organized terror attack. France government has honored the four victims with the nation's highest award of Legion of Honor.
