Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has departed on Monday for a two-day visit to Malaysia on Monday on the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad to discuss bilateral relations as well as investment opportunities, an official statement said.

According to a press release issued by the Foreign Ministry, Khan is accompanied by a high-level delegation including cabinet members and senior officials.

During his visit, Imran is expected to hold a meeting with the Malaysian prime minister followed by delegation-level talks. The two will also be present at the signing ceremonies of important agreements between the two countries and have a joint press stakeout, the statement added.

Khan will also address an event organized by Pakistani think-tank Institute of Strategic and International Studies in Malaysia.

The statement said that the two-day visit will provide the countries the opportunity to review the full spectrum of bilateral relations and will reaffirm Pakistan's resolve to forge a robust economic relationship with Malaysia.

It added that Khan will also share his vision for Pakistan and underline the country's positive contribution to regional and international peace and security.

This will be Imran's second visit to Malaysia since assuming office in August 2018.

Adviser to Pakistani Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile, Industries and Production and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood said told media that Pakistan will beef up economic cooperation on investment with Malaysia on tourism, communication and engineering goods during the visit.
