No new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were reported in central China's Hubei Province Friday, local health authority said Saturday.

On Friday, the province reported no new deaths from COVID-19.

The provincial health commission said Hubei had 589 asymptomatic cases under medical observation by Friday, adding that 33 such cases were reported on Friday.

Seven COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospital after recovery on Friday, all of whom were in the provincial capital city of Wuhan. Among the 122 patients being treated in hospital, nine were still in severe condition and 18 others in critical condition.

Hubei has so far reported 68,128 confirmed COVID-19 cases in total, including 50,333 in Wuhan.
