Sichuan province in Southwest China released a Tianfu tourist delicacies list on July 20 to enhance the popularity and reputation of the Sichuan Taste.

The list includes 100 tourist delicacies from 21 cities and prefectures in the province. Among them are world-famous Sichuan dishes such as Mapo Tofu and Kung Pao Chicken, as well as authentic local dishes such as Yanbian beef, Gulin spicy chicken, and Shimian barbecue.

Sichuan cuisine is one of the most important cultural tourism brands in the province. Sichuan cuisine cooking was selected as a national intangible cultural heritage item by the State Council in June.

To further promote Sichuan cuisine, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism launched a project last December to select the most famous tourist delicacies from across the province.

A total of 809 special dishes, snacks, and drinks were selected from 21 cities and prefectures. Among them, the 100 most iconic were selected as Tianfu tourist delicacies.

The Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism also released ten travel routes for the tourists to taste Tianfu tourist delicacies.

The province will continue to carry out various online and offline promotional activities for Tianfu tourist delicacies and promote the in-depth integration of food and cultural tourism, said local officials.
